telephone bokeh
HBW, everyone. I’m not sure how much longer pay telephones will be taking up wall space in public places — as mobile devices get cheaper and even more dominant. Who knows?

I love the bokeh and the yellow phones… the
phones were usually black.
To me, this little difference makes your

play "broken telephone" — I guess
this "bokeh telephone" is the adult
photographer’s equivalent. Excellent image.

Funny you should post this and ask this
question today this morning I saw a pay phone
being ripped out of the street and removed
and was thinking the same thing, alas I was
late for a meeting so didnt have time to
catch a shot of it
This is a wonderful shot though great point
of view and repeating phone bokeh

Paul, I agree that the overuse of the word
bokeh is annoying. But it really is not
identical to DOF, at least as I’m using it
here. By bokeh, I’m referring to the
out-of-focus highlight areas (which are
often, but not always, a result of a narrow
DOF) — and I think the way I’m using it does
make sense, since the one word replaces a
long and cumbersome phrase. It’s also the way
people I respect use the word (see the
various discussions on bokeh on the Canon
DSLR User Group). Still, I get your point
about hating the word. It’s overused, and
often used sloppily, as your comment,
ironically, shows.
